Phi Beta Kappa – Gamma Chapter at WSUEligibility
Membership is invitation-only and contingent upon fulfillment of minimum requirements. Chapters are expected to determine the specific application of standards stated in the stipulations mandated by the Phi Beta Kappa Society. The following criteria are required to be invited to the Gamma Chapter at WSU.
Membership Criteria
- 120 credits (including current enrollment)
- At least 45 credit hours at WSU
- Cumulative GPA of 3.6 or higher
- Certified in a major in the College of Arts & Sciences, College of Communication, Department of Human Development, Program in Neuroscience, School of Molecular Biosciences, or School of Economic Sciences
- At least 90 graded credits of completed courses in Liberal Arts or Sciences
- Demonstrated proficiency of college-level mathematics (B- or higher in Math 105 or higher, STAT 212, or PSYCH 311)
- Demonstrated proficiency of college-level foreign language or equivalent (B- or higher in language course, Advanced Placement credit, International student status, or immersive study abroad program)
- Invitations are limited to the top 15% of the graduating class in the the eligible fields of study.
