Letters of Recommendation
Faculty and others are directed to this page as part of the application process to submit letters of recommendation supporting our students who apply for a Phi Beta Kappa Scholarship from the WSU Gamma chapter. The Scholarship Committee would like to thank these individuals in advance for writing a recommendation for this WSU student. Letters of Recommendation for the 2023-2024 academic year awards are due by March 27, 2023.
The Importance of Recommendations
Phi Beta Kappa recognizes and fosters excellence in liberal learning at the undergraduate level. Each applicant requires three (3) supporting statements from members of the faculty or others who can speak to their accomplishments. We value recommendations from those who know of the student’s personal character, intellectual range and depth, and other individual strengths. We seek observations that illuminate and go beyond what is shown on the Registrar’s transcript.
The Content of Your Letter
In your statement, please indicate the basis of your knowledge and how you would rank this student among students with whom you have experience. Your statement will not be shown to the applicant. The student’s complete Application Packet will be evaluated by members of the Gamma Chapter’s Phi Beta Kappa Scholarship Committee.
Submission Deadline
Please return your recommendation by Monday, March 27, 2023. Note: We cannot consider applications complete until all recommendations are received.

The application acceptance period for the 2023 round of Phi Beta Kappa Scholarships has ended. The deadline was March 27, 2023. We plan to seek applications again in spring semester 2024.
